Christmas Card Packets

Oct-16-2009 By admin

When I was a young child of about 12 years old, I remember that a cousin of mine would order Christmas card packets from this company, in order to sell them around the neighborhood.

They were the prettiest Christmas cards I’d ever seen. He would have no problem selling them. Then he would order another box of Christmas card packets and sell them as well.

I think he would win prizes and a little cash for selling a certain amount of these Christmas cards.

I was so intrigued with the idea of winning prizes and cash and with the absolute beauty of these Christmas cards, that I got the information from him and ordered my own batch of cards.

I was so delighted when my order arrived! I remember opening the box and seeing all of the Christmas card packets inside. And as I said earlier, these cards were very beautiful. After selling all of those, I reordered the Christmas cards a couple more times.

I can’t recall exactly how much I made… but you had an option to keep a certain number of Christmas card packets for yourself for so many that were sold. And that’s what I did. It was so much fun!

I don’t think that company is any longer in business, or if it was, I can’t remember their name. But one thing for sure though, those Christmas card packets contained the prettiest Christmas cards I’ve ever seen to date.

Thanksgiving Holidays

Sep-25-2009 By admin

The Holidays are right around the corner. As much as I like Christmas, Thanksgiving Day is still my favorite.

When I was a child, of course, Christmas was my favorite time of the year, but now I prefer the Thanksgiving Holiday over the Christmas Holiday.

I love to come into the kitchen and smell all the goodies. Pumpkin pie is my favorite pie. The sweet smelling aroma of freshly made cinnamon pumpkin pies is just out of this world! And what about that big ole plump and juicy turkey slowly baking in the oven… that is truly something else too!

Add to all of that numerous other side dishes and desserts and you’ve got yourself a feast!

And what really makes all of this special, is that you’ll have all of your family over, usually at Grandma’s house.  Boy! What memories have been recorded over the years during the Thanksgiving holidays… they will truly last a lifetime.

Folks, make sure you try to make this Thanksgiving Day the best ever! Perhaps by pitching in and paying for a loved one’s out-of-town transportation to the Thanksgiving family gathering. Make it special by having all of the family members present on this warm and special occasion. It will make Mom and Grandma very happy too!

Try and make a favorite holiday recipe on this special day… perhaps a long cherished traditional one that has been left on the backburner over recent years. Do whatever it is that needs to be done, to make it as special as possible.

Happy Thanksgiving!
